my sustainable style: renting designer clothes for cheap!

Hey there, my sustainable trendsetters! I've got a fashion secret that's too good not to share. Imagine strutting into every event wearing designer threads without a hefty price tag. Well, spoiler alert: it's not a dream; it's Rent The Runway! Join me as I spill the deets on how I've been turning heads at different events without burning a hole in my wallet.

Champagne taste on a beer budget

Let's talk budget, shall we? I love me some designer labels, but my bank account doesn't always agree. Enter Rent The Runway, where I can snag those high-end looks for a fraction of the price. My wallet stays happy, and I get to feel like a million bucks. In 2023, I rented 19 items which was worth roughly $7,259… I have the 10-item per month subscription which has been PERFECT!

Dress for Every Mood!

Wedding? Corporate shindig? Casual hangout? Getting engaged or married? Rent The Runway's got my back (and my closet)! The selection is insane – it's like having a personal stylist without the hefty bill. I get to switch up my style game for every mood and occasion. I rented this Derek Lam Collective dress for my engagement, I loved it so much I kept it (yes, you can also buy the clothes you rent too!). The high neck bandeau top was sooo flattering and it was so comfortable. I was so thankful I was able to rent it because it retails for $430! I would have never been able to afford it otherwise.

Fashion Daredevil Moves:

Ever wanted to try a wild print or rock a daring silhouette but didn't want to commit? Renting lets me be a fashion daredevil without the commitment. I've discovered a love for styles I never thought I'd wear, and it's a total game-changer. This is a sweater I wore while wedding dress shopping from Rachel Antonoff (retail of $295!!!). I loved the two-tone asymmetrical design with the white swirly print… which happened to say MEOW! So cute.

Easy Peasy, Lemon Squeezy

The process? Oh, it's a breeze. Browsing, choosing, delivery – it's all so easy. The clothes? Always on point. I never worry about looking like a fashion faux pas, and that's a win in my book. Everything is delivered in a reusable garment bag with hangers. My shipment typically arrives in 1-2 days! It’s SOOO fast!

Sustainable Slay

So, I'm all about being green, but I also want to look fabulous. Renting from Rent The Runway lets me do both! No more contributing to fashion waste – I get to rock my colorful style, super expensive quality clothes and Mother Earth approves.

RTR Reports 24% less water, 6% less energy, and 3% less emissions on average, per garment, when renting through our platform versus purchasing new. Also, a production of 1.3 million estimated new garments displaced through our rental model in the past decade and 1.1 million decommissioned rental product diverted from landfill via resale, donation or recycling as of June 2021. Crazy right!? And they are currently working to reduce carbon emissions so that they operate with net zero emissions By 2040. GOALS!

In conclusion… renting designer looks with Rent The Runway is my not-so-secret weapon for slaying events without the fashion guilt. It's fashion on my terms – easy, affordable, and downright fabulous. So, who says you can't have your designer cake and eat it too? Cheers to Rent The Runway for making my fashion dreams come true, one rental at a time! 🌟👗✨
